The 20 best cities in the world to live in

11. Tromso – Norway

Located in beautiful Norway, between the sea and mountains, we find a magical place called Tromso. This city that seems to be small, brings together all the aspects of a cosmopolitan, such as shopping centers, quality gastronomy, economy of scale and modern architecture.

The official language of the country is Norwegian, but don’t worry because most of the population is polyglot and speaks English perfectly, plus some others also speak French, German and even Spanish, just as we talked with previous cities, we recommend you to learn the local language once you’re there.
The Norwegians are extremely attentive, polite and helpful people but they aren’t usually very expressive with strangers or foreigners, but don’t worry, this only happens when they are sober, because once they drink, they won’t stop laughing and talking with anyone. Once you make a few native friends, you’ll see how much they love doing things outdoors and enjoying their beautiful nature. Just like the whole country, Tromso has landscapes that seem taken from postal cards, with skies lighting up at night and mountains covered with different types of vegetation depending on the season.

When talking about living costs, Tromso can be expensive, but that’s until you receive your first Norwegian salary and understand that it’s actually very accessible to live here. A minimum salary in Tromso can be as high as 4000 euros per month in a full-time job without a professional title and the rent for a one-bedroom apartment in a central area is around 1500 euros.
Tromso is located in a northern country, therefore its climate is tundra-like, that is, it’s cool all year round with lower temperature peaks in the winters where there’re usually frosts and snow, and as for the summers, they’re usually quite cool as well. The average temperature ranges from -6°C to 15°C.
